The story of The Empathizer is nearly complete. At the fine cut stage, with 5% left to go, we are still in the need of the crucial finishing funds that will legitimize our film into the vital work of Vietnamese-American art that we envisioned.
Production expenses so far have totaled $55,000.

Our estimated remaining costs total about $45,000. Though the film may appear complete, there are many unseen costs that go into the rights and protections of showing a non-narrative film in public spaces. Festival application costs, and necessary screening needs such as subtitling, closed captioning, audio descriptions, also take up a lot of budget.
